This custom Cape Cod home was designed for a
couple on a piece of lakefront property that had been in the family for
years. The Cape Cod style fits right in on the water's edge and the
plan allowed for a maximum number of rooms to have views of the lake.
Each space was designed both to have its own identity and feel, yet flow
from area to area. The use of both painted & Cherry millwork and
distressed Hickory floors ties the spaces together. Like many of our
projects, we worked closely with our clients to incorporate and
highlight many specific furniture pieces as well as art work. The house
has many areas the couple can enjoy with just the two of them, yet the
house can open up and handle parties for 40 people or more comfortably.
The All Seasons Room, with its slate floors, indirect lighting and 180°
view is one of their favorite spaces. The grandkids prefer the Bedroom
Loft that forms a tower next to the Entry forming a beacon as you
approach the house on the long tree-lined lane.
