A Hearth Room addition, Kitchen, Butler's
Pantry and Laundry Room remodel were part of this classic home,
originally built in the early part of the 20th century. The successful
addition was designed to compliment and enhance this Federal Style
home. Oversized doors and large windows with painted black shutters and
washed off painted brick were incorporated into the project to be
sensitive to the original house. Interior materials of granite
countertops, travertine stone fireplace surround and plain sliced red
oak floors were designed around a classic formal plan. The Hearth Room
dropped twenty-one inches to achieve height and spaciousness inside
without appearing as an enormous addition on the outside of the house.
Full height bookshelves were designed to give the room a Library feel.
The Kitchen cabinetry included both stained and painted cabinets with a
variety of glazed and unglazed tile materials used as backsplashes.
